Why inlet air cooling? Combustion turbines are mass flow engines. The output of the turbines is therefore dependent on the properties of the air flowing through the engines.
Turbine Limitations
Around midday, when electrical demand is often at its maximum, the ambient temperature is also at a maximum. So, the generating capacity of a gas turbine is minimized. This output shortfall leads to «missing capacity»!
